I too think govt is planning more. 2000 re note report was reproduced in my epaper two weeks back. Of course without knowing the implication. More sound and fury at midnight and no real fire is what I expect.
Let's first decouple fake currency from black money. They are very different things. Against black money no midnight strike will ever work. Daytime office time cool time measures will. For example all gold transactions should have bill. Or no land should be allowed to be purchased below standard price. Or no country should entertain secret foreign accounts...
Against fake currency too daytime is better action time. Go for plastic money. Make card swiping free and if possible rewarding...
Midnight is however right time for chest thumping. And waking up the followers with the message to abuse dissenters first thing in the morning. and continue thru the day . repeat relentlessly.
