What is section 370?

● Jammu - Kashmir's citizens have dual citizenship.

● Jammu - Kashmir's national flag is different.

----------------------

Jammu - Kashmir' Legislative Assembly's term is 6 years

Whereas its 5 years for the States of India

----------------------

● In Jammu - Kashmir it’s not a crime to insult India's national flag or the national Symbols!

----------------------

● The order of the Supreme Court of India are not valid in Jammu - Kashmir.

----------------------

● Parliament of India may make laws in extremely limited areas in terms of Jammu - Kashmir.

----------------------

● In Jammu-Kashmir,

If a woman marries a person of any other states of India, citizenship of the female ends!

 

In contrast, if a woman marries a person from Pakistan even that person will get citizenship of Jammu - Kashmir.

● Because of Section 370

RTI does not apply in Kashmir.

RTE is not implemented

CAG does not apply...

Indian laws are not applicable

● Sharia law is applicable to women in Kashmir.

There are no rights to panchayats in Kashmir.

A peon only gets Rs 2500 in Kashmir

Minorities in Kashmir [Hindu - Sikh] do not get 16% reservation.

● Due to Section 370

Outsiders cannot own land in Kashmir.

----------------------

● Because of Section 370 Pakistanis gets Indian citizenship, for which they only need to marry girl from Kashmir

● It’s a good start to remove section370

At least one step has been taken further.

The new government has already raised this issue.!!

Now if someone wants to say something about these secular facts then they are welcome.!

planning commission

modi plans to downsize planning commission.
 better late than never.

what has planning commission achieved so far ?
other than publishing lengthy research papers
and adding a few new  words to the dictionary.

that is if u r ready to overlook the immense delays
planning commission introduced in the planning
process in india. for reasons ranging from academic
ambivalence to egoistic shadow fights. from unupdated
political philosophy  to stubborn insistence on ignoring
ground realities.

forget the past . let us experiment planning without the
commission . heavens will not fall. no doubt about it.

nothing wrong in allowing planning commission to
continue the work which they know . of publishing
research papers and holding international  seminars.
but let them not be vested with the power to sanction
( read delay or deny) development  plans of india

railway fare hike

may be the manner in which it was done is not correct. but rail fare hike is not such a great disaster. let us see if the govt can bring down prices and hold it down. that is more important. there are ways in which the govt can do it. even after the inflationary pressure induced by railway fare hike. let us give the govt a longer honey moon of say six months

article 370 debate is down and almost  out.
that is the beauty of the media. why hold on
to such difficult subjects when there are
more scintillating topics aplenty .
one thing that baffled me for long is this and
in the name of the state. j and k. since j and k
are adjacent alphabets j and k sounds great.
but why this and ? why cant jammu and kashmir
each stand alone ?
therein probably lies a story which is forgotten
too soon . may be it is time to reread that story
and debate rewriting it.
